Michael Gitsham – Project Manager/Managing Director

Michael chose a career as a landscape contractor over a life as a professional golfer because of his passion for the environment and interest in providing long term practical solutions to land management.
After studying Environmental Science at Melbourne and Botany at La Trobe, and working for several large construction companies, Michael formed Recoland in 1999. Recoland started working on large private revegetation projects and upgrading Australia’s major Golf Course in Melbourne and Sydney.
Over the last 11 years Michael has grown Recoland to become one of Victoria’s largest and most successful landscape management companies, working with government and large public & private construction companies.
Michael believes that good communication and close working relationships are fundamental to understanding the aims and aspirations of the client and the subsequent delivery of the best solutions to a project. Michael lives on a property of 3 acres of mountain ash forest in the beautiful Dandenong Ranges with his family and still manages to fit in the odd game of golf.
