Recoland is committed to providing quality services to you, and this policy outlines our ongoing obligations to you in respect of how we manage your personal information.

We have adopted the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (the Privacy Act). The APPs govern the way in which we collect, use, disclose, store, secure and dispose of your personal information.

A copy of the Australian Privacy Principles is available from the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at www.oaic.gov.au.

What is personal information and why do we collect it?

Personal information is information or an opinion that identifies you as an individual. Examples of personal information we may collect include your name, address, email address and phone number.

We collect this information in a number of ways, including through enquiries and consultation bookings made via our website, by phone, and by email. We don't guarantee the privacy practices of external websites or platforms we link to or use.

We collect your personal information for the primary purpose of providing our contracting, landscaping and environmental services to you, preparing quotes, and communicating with you about your project or enquiry. We may also use it for secondary purposes closely related to these, in circumstances where you'd reasonably expect such use.

Where appropriate and possible, we'll explain why we're collecting your information and how we plan to use it at the time we collect it.

Sensitive information

Sensitive information is defined under the Privacy Act to include information or an opinion about things such as an individual's racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious beliefs, membership of a professional or trade association, criminal record, or health information.

We do not intentionally collect sensitive information as part of our services. The personal information we collect is limited to general contact and project-related details needed to provide quotes and deliver our services.

Third parties

Where reasonable and practicable, we will collect your personal information only from you. We do not currently receive your personal information from third parties as a matter of regular practice.

Disclosure of personal information

We do not currently share your personal information with third parties on a regular basis. Your personal information may only be disclosed:

  • Where you consent to us disclosing it to a third party

  • Where required or authorised by law

Security of personal information

Your personal information is stored in a manner that reasonably protects it from misuse and loss, and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

When your personal information is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected, we will take reasonable steps to destroy or permanently de-identify it. Enquiry, client and project records may be retained for a minimum of 7 years for accounting and business purposes.
